We took a day trip to Terezin, outside of Prague. Terezin was a prison built in the late 1700's until the Gestapo took it over in 1940 for their own purposes. Today it is a solemn destination. On the bitter cold day we arrived the chill and silence echoed loudly in my ears. It seemed surreal to walk through the streets, move from barrack to barrack – alone – it was only the four of us and out tour guide. We were the only living souls.
This image the road we walked from where we parked into the grounds themselves. It looks peaceful and I can imagine the trees covered in small white flowers and bright green leaves.
This image is a variation from my original negative. I used textures from three sources: RegularJane@DeviantArt.com, Ja
